Finn - Test whitewash still hurts
February 19, 2012 12:00:49 UK
Steven Finn says the one-day series win over Pakistan has not made up for the Test whitewash, but has helped to "soften the blow".
England wrapped up the series with three wins out of three on Saturday, and will be looking for a whitewash of their own in the fourth and final match on Tuesday. They are 1.72 to win the match while Pakistan are at 2.10.

It is a great thing to be involved with, to win out here in their own conditions.

Finn has starred in the one-day games after not being picked for the Test matches, taking 11 wickets for 92 runs, but says he and the rest of the squad are still licking their wounds after the Test disappointment.
"It's a great result for England," said Finn, who is 3.75 to be England's top bowler in the fourth match.
"It is a great thing to be involved with, to win out here in their own conditions. It's what we came to achieve."
He added: "I wouldn't say it makes up for it (the Test whitewash); I'd say it shows we've improved and adapted to the conditions, which unfortunately we were not able to do during the Test series.
"But to win here and have the chance to make it 4-0 on Tuesday is great opportunity for us to ram home what a good one-day side we've become."
