Arnold has sympathies for GCU

Central Coast Mariners coach Graham Arnold has sympathised with the recently sacked Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg and the troubled club's current squad.
The last few days have been disastrous for the Glitter Strip club and their fans. They first saw a falling out between their billionaire owner Clive Palmer and their manager Bleiberg, which led to the latter's acrimonious departure from the club.
And then they had to witness the long-term future of their club brought into jeopardy due to Palmer's separate row with the A-League officials.
Central Coast Mariners are 2.20 to defeat Melbourne Heart, who themselves are 3.20 to get the win. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
After Bleiberg's exit, the club's temporary charge was given to his assistant Mike Mulvey, who inherits an injury-plagued squad that is missing a number of key performers. Moreover, the morale is reportedly at an all-time low, which is why not many would want to be in Mulvey's position at the moment.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Sportal, Arnold said: "It must be tough for the club at the moment. As a coach, I sympathize with Miron. I feel sorry for any coach who gets the sack, because it's a hard gig."
He then talked about Bleiberg's successor Mulvey and advised him to capitalise on the management opportunity he has been given.
"When there's only nine top jobs in Australia outside of the national team it's quite cut-throat, and Mike has got an opportunity now. He's come through the system and done his hard yards and he's got a chance and I'm sure he'll take it with both hands. Every time I have seen his teams play they're very well organized and structured," the Mariners boss added.
