Jeremy Lin scored 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting and also dished out 10 assists as the New York Knicks defeated the Washington Wizards.
With Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire still both out of the line-up, the former Harvard star has taken the league by storm averaging a little over 25 points in his last three contests all of which have been New York wins. Tyson Chandler actually led the Knicks with 25 points on the evening in the 107-93 triumph which sent the Wizards to their 21st defeat of the season.
Lin's exploits overshadowed a monster game by Dwight Howard down in Orlando as the Magic beat the Miami Heat 102-89. Howard had 25 points and 24 rebounds as Orlando moved back to within three games of the Southeast division leaders.
The Atlanta Hawks also picked up a game on the Heat as they beat the visiting Indiana Pacers 97-87 at the Philips Arena. Josh Smith and Joe Johnson combined for 48 points and Tracy McGrady and Kirk Hinrich had strong performances off the bench as Atlanta snapped a three game slide.
The Knicks are 7501.00 to win the NBA Championship while the Magic are 7501.00 and the Heat are 3.40.
